Could the Draymond Green suspension actually favor the Warriors this time? The adjustments made because Green was suspended have won the Warriors games and created a rebounding monster in Kevon Looney. In the last three games he has had 20, 14, and 22 rebounds, averaging 18.6 rebounds per game. But his line has only gone from 10.5 at the beginning of the series to 12.5. Hear the rest of the breakdown on Early Edge in 5 at 4pm ET.
In his four home games against the Kings this season (including two in the playoffs), Curry has scored 33, 47, 36, and 32 points. In his five games on the road against the Kings, he's fallen below 32 points in each of them. It's the simple case of home and road splits, similar to how trends commonly work in baseball. With Golden State wanting to desperately avoid a Game 7 in Sacramento, I think Curry exceeds 32 points tonight and helps end the Kings' season.
Kevon Looney has been destroying the Kings on the glass, recording 56 rebounds over the last three games. He has also been racking up assists, posting at least seven of them in each of those three games. Dating back to the regular season, Looney has at least four assists in six of the nine games that he has played against the Kings. Given the fast pace at which both of these teams play and all of the shooters that Looney has around him, I like the over to hit here.
De'Aaron Fox fought through a fractured finger and still put up a valiant effort in the Kings game 5 defeat to the Warriors. Fox scored 24 points, dished out 9 assists, and grabbed 7 rebounds, while playing a career high 42 minutes. It was hard to tell if Fox's fractured finger contributed to his poor shooting performance (9-25 FG), however there is no doubt in my mind that the King's offense will continue to run through him. The All-Star PG is averaging 13.6 combined RA in this series and has eclipsed this line in four consecutive games. Considering he is likely going to log 40-44 minutes in a win or go home scenario, I expect him to pile up plenty of peripheral stats.
The first time this series went to the Chase Center, part of Golden State's game plan was to slow things down and make the Kings play winning basketball -- on both ends in -- a half-court game. Down 0-2, that was a must-win game, and I think the same focus and urgency returns with a chance to close the series at home. Plus, Sacramento's three-point shooting has cooled and if the game is decided late we won't see either team want to extend the game.
