The Cavaliers burned me on Saturday, failing to cover the spread against a Mavericks team that was playing without Luka Doncic. Still, I’m going back to the well here and taking them to cover. They are 11-4-1 against the spread at home and they have no injuries of note for this matchup. Meanwhile, the Jazz will be without Collin Sexton (hamstring) and Kelly Olynyk (ankle). With Olynyk out, it will be interesting to see if rookie Walker Kessler can hang with Jarrett Allen.
Utah has started coming back to earth a bit and remains without former Cavalier Collin Sexton. Kelly Olynyk might miss tonight as well with a sprained ankle. The Cavs are healthy -- or at least all the important ones are -- and they are an NBA-best 14-2 at home. Can't say I love this big number but I'm quite sure Cleveland wins. Cover the 6? Not that sure.
The Cavaliers have won three in a row and look awfully good, most recently winning a tight game in overtime against Luka Doncic and the Mavericks. Utah will be without Colin Sexton for a sixth straight game, and Kelly Olynyk could sit too. Look for Donovan Mitchell to have his way with his old team. My model has the Cavs covering in 64% of simulations.
