We have about a 30-minute deadline before plays. This is in about 25 minutes in theory, but games never start really on time. They have to have mascot runs, Morganna (showed my age), etc. Anyways, I wasn't going to play but Ketel Marte was a late Snakes scratch. So that's what this is.

DraftKings. Michael McGreevy is under this line in 12/19 starts this season, including each of his last five outings, and 6/9 at home. He’s a contact-oriented pitcher with a ground ball rate in the 75th percentile and a whiff rate in the 8th percentile. He’ll face a Diamondbacks lineup that only features three hitters with an above average walk rate against righties. And most importantly, the Diamondbacks make a ton of contact: 79.3% is the third highest mark. McGreevy just faced the D-Backs last week and only encountered three, three-ball counts (all with two strikes). I don’t anticipate McGreevy drawing too many deep counts today.

Arizona starter Brandon Pfaadt fixed his mechanics in the minors and has been a totally different pitcher since returning. He’s won all four of his starts since then while issuing only one walk. Cardinals starter Michael McGreevy is a major regression candidate with a 5.35 expected ERA. Back the Diamondbacks to at least be tied through five.

It's been a rough last five games for the Cardinals, who went 1-4 since Saturday. But they return home for a makeup game against a suddenly hot Diamondbacks team on Thursday. Instead of taking a side, I'm going to play Michael McGreevy's outs for St. Louis. I was impressed with the right hander after watching him in person last Friday night. He induced ten groundball outs in that contest and pitched at least six innings for the 7th time in his last 8 starts. The Cardinals don't have an scheduled off day for the next two weeks so keeping their bullpen rested will be key. Expect McGreevy, with a 1.89 ERA at home this season, to complete six innings again on Thursday.
