For whatever reason, I have not been on the Nationals train hardly at all this season as I keep expecting them to fade. But maybe they are legit WC contenders. The most profitable pitcher in baseball (+1175) has been Washington's Foster Griffin, who goes tonight. He's due for major regression most likely but hopefully not yet. Houston has lost four straight outings for Spencer Arrighetti and he was hit hard in three. The Astros' bullpen might be missing Josh Hader (I truly doubt he can go) and few other key guys due to recent usage.

DraftKings. Foster Griffin has stayed under this line in 13/18 starts this season. He’ll face an Astros squad that’s hitting .232 against lefties on the road this season, and .198 collectively over the last month. Outside of Yordan Alvarez, nobody on the Astros active roster has an xBA north of .250 against southpaws. Griffin has proved this line is too high, and I’m taking the under with confidence, in what’s a plus matchup right now.
Foster Griffin continues to be an ATM for bettors, having compiled a 9-2 record with a 2.87 ERA for the Nationals in 2026. Washington has won 8 of his last 9 starts dating back to mid-May, while the left hander has surrendered only one run in six straight outings. Meanwhile, Houston has lost each of Spencer Arrighetti's last four starts. Look for the Nationals to capture the series win on Wednesday.
