Colby Thomas had a mini role in yesterday’s 29 combined runs between the Athletics and Brewers. He had just two at bats before being pinch hit. Look for an expanded role tonight, and for Thomas to use his triple AAA experience at Las Vegas Ball Park. Over the last three years he has combined to hit forty home runs in Triple AAA, including five this season. Take Thomas over on his total bases/combination line.
This might be the biggest F5 total I've ever seen outside of Coors Field. And I get it as winds are blowing out again in Sacramento after the teams combined for 29 runs last night in 12 innings. But 7.5 is crazy as we'd still win at 4-3 after five. The model has the full-game projection at 10.9 runs.
Las Vegas got a taste of what A's baseball can be last night when the Brewers won a thrilling 12-inning game 15-14 with so many twists and turns in the plot that it was more like a classic mystery than a baseball game. The wind isn't blowing out as much today as yesterday, but it's still coming at 12 mph out to right-center field at 94° at game time, and no chance of rain. The ballpark will create the runs. Just the over.

DraftKings. In last night’s 29-run affair, Shea Langeliers was 3/7 with a homerun. The Las Vegas hitting environment makes Coors Field seem like a pitchers’ park, and today’s weather projects to be even more hitter friendly (credit to Ballpark Pal). It’s not just the conditions, but Langeliers gets a terrific matchup, facing the lefty Robert Gasser to start. The A’s catcher is hitting .354 off lefties, with a 1.138 OPS. He’s an excellent sinker-ball hitter, and also hits Gasser’s other pitches well (specifically the changeup). The Brewers essentially depleted their bullpen yesterday as well, so Langeliers should see Gasser three times. Over in 7/16 in games started by a lefty, including each of the last three - take the over in outlier conditions today.
