The Dodgers are a disciplined lineup, but Sanchez dominated them in Game One, striking out 8 in just 5⅔ innings. He cashed this line in both regular season starts, including 9 Ks in April. He ended the season with the seventh-most strikeouts among pitchers and a 2.50 ERA. He has elite swing-and-miss stuff and gets guys to chase. The depth should be there as well, helping us cash this over.

The Phillies' lefties (Cristopher Sanchez, Jesus Luzardo, Ranger Suarez) have handled the Dodgers nicely twice through the order and all the runs in Game 3 allowed the Phillies to save their big bullpen guns. I like the Phillies to hit enough to pull off the upset.

Will Smith is just 1-7 with a single and 4 Ks in his career against Cristopher Sanchez. Smith hit just .143 in 16 post season games last year, including just 1-11 against LHPs. Smith struggled in the month of August, hitting just .159 in 22 games, and the under 1.5 TBs has hit in 14 of 20 games headed into today.

Resembling the 2019 Nats-Astros World Series, this NLDS matchup has featured no edge to playing at home. The Phils finally broke thru last night in an 8-2 win, and importantly, streak-hitter deluxe Kyle Schwarber is back after banging out a pair of homers last night. Phils pitching also handcuffed Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani, the key to keeping the Dodgers offense in check. Christopher Sanchez was cruising thru five innings in the opener of this series and we suspect Rob Thomson won't ask him to go much further tonight, and Tyler Glasnow not likely to work much longer for LA. Cristopher Sanchez owns a 4.91 ERA in three starts against the Dodgers, allowing 10 earned runs. Tyler Glasnow, at home, owns a 2.77 ERA in 11 starts and will need to go longer than two innings, keeping their bullpen of the game until the later innings. Los Angeles will not want to travel back to the Bank for game 5 as they’re still 52-30 SU as a home favorite on the season.

The Phillies got their one with two big innings on Wednesday, but I think -- unfortunately like the Cubs -- their season ends in a quick-turnaround Game 4. Why is this game the earlier one Thursday? Strange. But the Dodgers have had some success this year vs. Philly starter Cristopher Sanchez. He had a 5.68 ERA against them in two RS starts and allowed two runs over five in Game 1. The Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow had a 2.77 ERA at home this year and threw 1.2 scoreless innings in Game 1. Good sign for LA that injured catcher Will Smith was in Wednesday's starting lineup for the first time this postseason. And the team used none of its high-leverage relievers in the loss.
