After a strong prior series against the Orioles, the Rangers bats were quiet in Friday’s 3-2 loss against the Padres. Expect an uptick tonight in game two against the Padres against inexperienced starter Stephen Kolek. Jake Burger has delivered the most on the road versus at home this season, and is in his longest stretch without a home run since late April/early May. Take Burger’s over half hit.

Patrick Corbin has been a solid free agent addition to the Rangers rotation, however after a good start to the season, he’s reverting back to the shaky starter he’s been for the last 3-4 years. On paper this looks like a soft matchup but Corbin has been worse on the road and is coming off a season high 110 pitch performance in his last appearance. I expect the Padres bats to find success against him.
