We saw the San Francisco Giants lose yesterday as heavy favorites with Robbie Ray on the mound. That creates a bit of value today on a much favorable price point with Hayden Birdsong making his third start of the season. As sharp as Ryan Weathers has been he saw the same opponent twice in the Cubs, and his old team in the Padres. Take the Giants to bounce back from yesterday’s poor loss.

Certainly would prefer 5 but some books have this game total as low as 7.5, so this seems like OK value. The Giants' Hayden Birdsong has been a nice surprise with a 2.48 ERA and no Marlins have ever seen him in a RS game. Miami's Ryan Weathers would lead the NL with a 1.15 ERA this season ... but he isn't "qualified" with only three starts.

When looking at recent left handed starters against this Giants lineup, only three of nine have stayed under this strikeout total; Logan Allen, Cade Povich and Yusei Kikuchi. None of those names are exactly strikeout world-beaters, and Ryan Weathers has been over this total in two of three starts since coming off the IL. He has looked incredibly good thus far for the Marlins and against the 6th highest strikeout rate vs. left handed pitchers, I'm more than happy to play the over on 4.5 K's here.

DraftKings and Caesar’s. Ryan Weathers has cleared this line in two of his three starts since coming back from injury, despite facing two of three toughest teams to strikeout for a lefty (the Cubs twice and the Padres). He’ll now get the Giants, who not only have the sixth highest strikeout rate against southpaws (25.4%), but struggle to hit them (.642 OPS). Weathers had turned a corner last season with his strikeout prowess, prior to a prolonged injury absence - and that seems to have carried over this year.
