Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Adam's Analysis:

Went with the Cowboys to cover in Week 1, and I see no reason to back off them here in an even better spot against a team that cannot attack it as effectively on the ground as the Giants did. Dak Prescott wants that big contract, Ezekiel Elliott is now fully back in his groove after starting the first game just days after rejoining the team, and the defense has stepped up, too. Washington is injured and less talented than Dallas at most positions. I wish I got a better line on this here as I’m taking the Cowboys at a premium so late in the week, but I have them as a full touchdown better anyway.

R.J.'s Analysis:

Yes, this is a lot of points to lay with a road team. But Washington consistently has one of the worst home-field advantages in the league, and that was the case last year, when the offense and defense both played better on the road. I'm fully buying into the Cowboys offense under Kellen Moore, and I expect a strong showing by the Dallas defense against a banged-up Washington team. I also think this line is too low; what's the difference between this game and Chiefs-Raiders, which is at seven points? I think the Cowboys roll.

Hammer's Analysis:

Washington is not a good team and the Cowboys have been dominating their division opponents lately. Ezekiel Elliott is going to be more fully involved and will have a big game. The road doesn't bother these Cowboys. This isn't going to be close.

Micah's Analysis:

The underdog usually covers in this rivalry going 31-11 ATS in the last 42 meetings, but the Cowboys have won five of the last six (4-2 ATS). Dallas has a motivated QB auditioning for the big contract and Dak Prescott’s first test of the season was sensational throwing for 405 yards and four TDs. He keeps it going on Sunday. I’m looking for the Cowboys to get the cover here.

Mike's Analysis:

With quarterback Dak Prescott at the wheel, Dallas has this thing figured out. The Cowboys have won nine of their past 12 games straight-up and have failed to cover in just four of them. In D.C. games, they are riding a 4-1 ATS streak. Redskins coach Jay Gruden is in a pickle, forced to rely on running back Adrian Peterson in the wake of harsh comments about him because Derrius Guice (knee) is unavailable. Defensive lineman Jonathan Allen (knee) is also shelved, while offensive tackle Trent Williams' holdout remains unresolved. Ride the Cowboys.

Emory's Analysis:

Dak Prescott was incredibly efficient in Week 1, and he'll play well again at Washington against a defense missing Jonathan Allen. It should be a big day for Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott as Dallas starts 2-0.
