The Colts are healthy, playing at home and coming off consecutive big wins, while the Broncos just lost by 24 on the road and traded away one of their best playmakers. Joe Flacco may have trouble remaining upright in the second half, and Indianapolis should pull away in the second half for a cover. I am not all-in on Jacoby Brissett yet, but he's getting me there. I expected this spread to be over a touchdown, so I like the value here at 5.5 or even 5 in some markets.
It’s tough to throw on the Broncos, but as the Colts proved while upsetting the Chiefs in K.C., they don’t need to throw to be successful. Frank Reich will take advantage of whatever’s there, so look for heavy doses of Marlon Mack. It’s unlikely the Colts reach 30 points as they did a week ago against Houston, but the Broncos, who didn’t have much offense before, have even less after trading Emmanuel Sanders. Lay the points.
Denver’s popgun offense was further weakened with the trade of WR Emmanuel Sanders, leaving beleaguered QB Joe Flacco with a thin corps of targets. Indy QB Jacoby Brissett, conversely, is coming off perhaps his finest performance. His season TD pass/interception ratio of 14/3 is enviable for a lightly experienced thrower. If the Broncos could not hang with the Chiefs minus Pat Mahomes for much of the night, what chance do they have here?
The Broncos just traded their disgruntled No. 1 receiver, and players are wondering who's next. The Colts could have their entire starting defense intact for the first time all season. Lay it.
What a game last week by Colts QB Jacoby Brissett. Because of his play, the Colts now sit atop the AFC South and look like a serious contender in the AFC. The Broncos just traded WR Emmanuel Sanders to the 49ers, giving them one less playmaker on the perimeter. This is a tough matchup for the Broncos offense, and it's hard to envision Joe Flacco having any success.
I like Indianapolis a lot. Joe Flacco is bad, and the Broncos' offensive line keeps getting flagged. The Colts are really playing well. Jacoby Brissett has a great offensive line in front of him. I give Denver no shot.
