Picking against the Saints is something I do not do often, but in a situation like this, you are getting the Seahawks at a value price. Playing in Seattle is difficult enough, but doing so without Drew Brees is hard to fathom. Especially for a team in New Orleans that is far better at home and indoors. This may not be the same dominant Seahawks team of old, but I like their weapons and believe they have learned a couple lessons from that Week 1 burner against the Bengals. Teddy Bridgewater will do well eventually, but I don't see it happening right off the bat on the road like this.
The Seahawks are getting healthier, with Ziggy Ansah set to make his season debut, which will strengthen the front four for Seattle. I need to see something better from Teddy Bridgewater than what he showed last week and in Week 17 last year before he gets as strong a rating as this line implies with the dropoff from Drew Brees. Going into Seattle, where the Seahawks have won their last 15 home games in September and are 12-3 ATS during that stretch, isn't easy when you're relatively healthy. For the Saints, it could get ugly.
The Seahawks have squeaked by the last two weeks and, for the second consecutive week, they get to play an offense without their starting QB. I saw enough of Saints backup Teddy Bridgewater last week to remind me that he didn’t impress me when he used to be a starter. I don’t expect much out of him this week and I think the drop-off from Brees is too cheap here. Back Seattle.
New Orleans has a strong defense and Teddy Bridgewater will be much better with a week to get ready. The Saints can be competitive with him. Seattle gave up four TD passes to Cincinnati in its last home game. The Seahawks miss Doug Baldwin and their secondary isn't all that great.
