With Immanuel Quickley sidelined again, Scottie Barnes is Toronto's best distributor. He had seven assists in Game 1 and we could see similar production in Game 2, especially with the Raptors likely to emphasize Brandon Ingram's scoring. With Toronto in desperation mode, look for Barnes to play 35 or more minutes and deliver a strong all-around game.

FanDuel. Stubborn, I am. But I’m taking the under on Scottie Barnes’ points again. As predicted, he struggled with his efficiency around the rim, shooting 3/10 on two pointers. What carried him to his 21-point performance was two outliers: he shot 3/4 from three (his third time making 3+ threes in 40 road games this season), and Brandon Ingram only had 9 shots from the field (the strategy to use your best pure scorer as a decoy in the playoffs is one for the ages…). No Immanuel Quickley again tonight, so I will relent on the playmaking role for Barnes. But I still have him at 16-17 points tonight.

Postseason series differ drastically from the regular season. We have already seen that with the Cavaliers dominating game one over Toronto. The Raptors could be in trouble for game two again, but expect the starters to play more minutes in a desperation spot. At worst they need to find something to take back home for games three and four. Scottie Barnes averaged 20 points per game during the season against the Cavaliers, and was right at that in game one with 21 points. He clears his points prop once again in game two.

Barnes had a single rebound in his team’s Game 1 loss in Cleveland. That’s astonishing, since he had 21 points and seven assists to go with it. In three regular-season meetings with the Cavs, he totaled 10, 10 and 11. That will be a focus for him and for the Raptors here. He's shown the chops to do his part.
The Raptors caught the Cavaliers flat by winning all three meetings on the season before November 24th. That was the complete opposite of the previous season, when the Cavaliers won all four meetings. The Cavs won Game 1, which gives them an 8-0 advantage against Toronto in their last eight playoff meetings in Cleveland. Toronto lost by 13, but they shot 52% from the field, 48% from 3-point range, while attempting 35 free throws, with the only negative being they turned the ball over 17 times. I think it'll be hard for the Raptors to duplicate their Game 1 play in Game 2. The Cavs haven't been 100% healthy all season, but they are now. Unfinished business after last year's collapse. Cavs to cover.

Raptors reserve Sandro Mamukelashvili grabbed eight rebounds in the Game 1 loss at Cleveland. He had two assists, a steal and zero turnovers. He was only minus-4 in a game his team lost by 13. With Jakob Poeltl struggling against Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, Toronto turned to Mamukelashvili and Collin Murray-Boyles for 20 minutes apiece. In the three regular-season meetings with the Cavs, Mamukelashvili grabbed six, five and nine rebounds. I like his chances Monday of getting to five rebounds at plus money.
