DraftKings (over 20.5 at -117). Without D’Angelo Russell available, I expect Brandon Williams to take on the lion’s share of the point guard minutes for the Mavericks. He’s cleared this line in three of four games with just 26 minutes this season - and this is an A+ matchup. The Pelicans cannot defend ball-handlers who get to the rim (26th in at rim points allowed, 27th against pick and roll ball handlers).

Acceptance of a star’s new role off the bench takes time. Klay Thompson has accepted that role on the Dallas Mavericks, and tonight gets a favorable matchup against the 2-13 New Orleans Pelicans. The Mavericks could also be without D’Angelo Russell who is questionable, giving Thompson more value off the bench. Look for Thompson to flash some of his old school shooting tonight, and clear his points prop.
Rather enjoying watching the Mavericks crater because ownership signed off on that Luka Doncic trade, yet then fired GM Nico Harrison basically because of it. Granted, Nico never should have brought such silliness to ownership, but to quote Nancy Reagan: "Just Say No." The Mavs are playing pretty well of late at home, at least, and are getting healthy other than Anthony Davis, the centerpiece of that trade (LOL), and of course Kyrie Irving. If they can't beat the truly don't-care Pelicans, who have dropped seven straight and are without third-leading scorer Jordan Poole (17.3 PPG) at home, then I don't know what to say. Tough sports year in Big D overall if we loop in Texas football. Guess it's all on the Stars now.
