Well, it wouldn't be the NBA season without getting hosed right off the bat. Karl-Anthony Towns per Shams (I miss Woj!), who usually isn't wrong, wasn't supposed to play opening night so I played a Guerschon Yabusele prop. That flopped as it should have when KAT played. So please be aware all plays regarding the NBA going forward -- don't you dare make a bet less than 15 minutes before tipoff is basically my point. KAT is supposed to play tonight and Josh Hart might too after missing the opener. This is a play on at least KAT playing. If he doesn't, pass. If both he and Hart play, I do believe this easily cashes.

Anfernee Simons has gone over this mark in six of his last nine games. However, now that he’s a member of the Celtics, he’s not the primary ball handler. There are three other players over him that control the ball more, Payton Pritchard, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White. Simons was brought to Boston for his scoring ability and with the Knicks having plenty of wing defenders to attempt to limit the three points shots since that was a big point of emphasis last season when these two teams played.

While it looks like Josh Hart will give it a go he's still questionable. OG Anunoby is probable but is on the injury list and starting Center Mitchell Robinson is out. With the Knicks not at full strength on the boards in their opener Mikal Bridges contributed 5 boards. Last season he averaged +0.3 more boards at home vs the road and his over% was considerably higher (45.1% to 36.7%). He has played 10 games vs the Celtics since last season and is 5-5 over this line. We would set this line at even money so that's why I like it at +104.

Both the Celtics and Knicks don't mind getting into a 3pt contest and, in fact, both teams might prefer that. We are getting a lower line than he would be at home because Jaylen Brown does average 0.7 fewer made threes on the road but his average is still 1.5. Going back to the playoffs he comes in 7-1 over this line. And remember, his lower road average was playing alongside Jayson Tatum and with Tatum not there Brown should get his 6+ attempts and make at least two. The Knicks allowed the Cavs to shoot 52% from 3pt range in the season opener.

Anfernee Simons came off the bench for the Celtics but still played 32 minutes in his first game with the team. Boston clearly needs his offense as the clear cut 3rd scorer. Since last season his average was considerably higher in road games (20.6) than at home (17.7). The Knicks under Mike Brown are looking to play a faster pace and the total for this game is up to 229.5 which is a good 20+ points higher than totals were when the Knicks and Celtics played in the playoffs.
