Trae Young is 20 for his last 31 from downtown. He is on fire since his All-Star snub and the Hawks have won four straight. He's playing to prove a point and the Clippers are on a back-to-back.
It's getaway night on this long two-week road trip for the Clippers. Though, after winning five of the previous six, maybe Ty Lue's bunch wouldn't mind staying away for a bit longer. Second nights of back-to-backs were previously a concern for the Clips, but not as many load management issues with Kawhi, Paul George etc. this season, and in the last second of a back-to-back they destroyed the Celtics at TD Garden last week. Meanwhile the Hawks have won four straight on this homestand that includes a 1-point win over the Raps and an OT vs. the Warriors, plus a win vs. the Lakers minus AD. This is arguably their toughest test of the homestand. Play Clippers

In addition to fading the Clippers entire squad tonight I am also going to fade Mason Plumlee. The 11 year veteran will be facing off against a subpar Hawks team and defense, however the matchup is more difficult than it appears at first glance. Plumlee will be primarily guarded by Onyeka Okongwu who will be taking over as the starting Center for Atlanta after veteran Clint Capela recently suffered a left adductor strain and will be sidelined for the next few weeks. Okongwu is still a work in progress offensively but is a plus defender and the Hawks play better with him on the floor defensively compared to Capela. He's a very capable on ball defender and I believe Plumlee will have his hands full.
The wayward Clippers are headed home soon from their annual extended Grammys trip as the musical awards show occupied the arena. L.A. has had a blast, winning five of six staight-up. Look for exhaustion to knick in as the road trip ends with a challenging back-to-back. Monday's host, Atlanta, has notched four consecutive S-U wins against laudable competition. The homesick Clippers have every reason to coast through the road finale.
I rarely bet NBA sides and totals however this is a rare exception. This is a brutal spot for the Clippers who are not only the second half of a B2B but they are playing their seventh consecutive road game. Historically and unsurprisingly the home team are very profitable in this circumstance. I've had this spot circled for a while.
