Jonas Valanciunas is playing well in the month of December averaging 17/12/2 on shooting splits of 59/37/77%. Despite the big numbers, I'm going to sell high and fade the big man in what has proven to be a difficult matchup historically. Memphis is tough on opposing Centers and they surrender the 6th fewest points to the position. This shouldn't come as a surprise considering reigning DPOY Jaren Jackson Jr. is the anchor of their defense. Memphis can deploy a smaller lineup with Jackson at Center which makes Valanciunas a liability on both ends of the court resulting in the big man coming off the floor. Valanciunas has averaged just 21 minutes, 8.8 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 1.1 APG over his last 9 games vs Memphis.
