The Lakers are the much more desperate team and might get D'Angelo Russell back from injury tonight. Anthony Davis is playing spectacular since LeBron James went out and easily could get Jaren Jackson into early foul trouble. The Lakers will retire Pau Gasol's jersey so they can't lose, right? Memphis has been trash on the road for the most part and there might be a bit of locker-room turmoil with the Ja Morant mess as reportedly there was a players' only meeting to address things that were brewing and then Morant went out immediately and embarrassed himself on social media with that incident in the Denver area. He's out tonight as are Brandon Clarke (for season) and Steven Adams.
The Grizzlies might be in trouble. Ja Morant has been suspended for at least two games, and from some of the quotes coming out of Memphis, he could be out much longer. Steven Adams (knee) is going to miss his 18th straight game and Brandon Clarke (Achilles) has been lost for the remainder of the season. Things are looking better for the Lakers, with Anthony Davis (foot) probable. They could also get back D’Angelo Russell (ankle), who is questionable after missing five straight. Another reason to like the Lakers here is that the Grizzlies are only 12-20 on the road. The Lakers lost to the Grizzlies in Memphis, but defeated them the one game they faced off previously in Los Angeles.
