Caesar’s. I’m going to take a stab at the rookie Noah Schultz on his strikeout prop. The tall southpaw has looked the part of a blue chip prospect in his last two starts, with 14 punchouts in 11 clean innings against two tough to strikeout teams (Washington and the Athletics). He’ll face the Padres, who have been very strikeout prone of late (the highest rate against lefties over the last two weeks), and I think the books are valuing too high based on their reputation from the last few seasons. At plus odds (or close to even), I love the value.
Teams are hitting .151 off White Sox LHP Noah Schultz, the 6-10, 240-pound rookie. His best start was in California (aka, warmer than Chicago) and now he’s back to face a Padres lineup that’s 27th in OPS vs. southpaws. In five starts, Padres starter German Marquez has blanked the competition twice and allowed four runs in each of the other three. The Sox have an .819 OPS vs. RHPs over the last two weeks. There’s no relief from a Padres bullpen with a 6.69 ERA over that same span.
