Boston is one of the hottest teams in baseball currently. They’re 9-1 SU in their last 10 games but the Royals send out Michael Wacha, who’s allowed one run in each of his last four starts. Dustin May makes his Boston debut after owning a 4.85 ERA with the Dodgers. Kansas City’s lineup have had success against May in their careers with a 1.226 OPS in their last 24 at-bats against him. Plenty of other teams couldn’t complete the sweep in their series, and this could have another one of those.

What a massacre early today was. The Guardians winning at the Mets didn't shock me -- bummer on the no-hitter. And the very short-handed, nothing-to-play-for Twins obliterating the Tigers in D-Town? That definitely surprised. Is it Sunday? Detroit's Jack Flaherty is now dead to me, but I'd make that play 100% again. All the numbers, intangibles, etc., were in hugely our favor. That's also the exact reason why I prefer -1. While I got hammered on that play, it saved me 60 cents or so on the moneyline (alas, I doubled up). Here, I'm saving about 40 on red-hot Boston. Fine with -1 pushes the rest of the way.

Michael Wacha is having a strong season, however he his ERA is nearly 2 runs higher when pitching away from Kauffman stadium this season. Wacha will have the unenviable task of pitching in Boston today against a Red Sox lineup that ranks top 5 in nearly every offensive metric over the last 30 days.

We're going back to Bobby Witt, who continues to swing a hot bat even if the long balls haven't been there lately. He's 1-for-3 in his career against Dustin May, and that one hit was a home run. Witt has been better on the road this season and has hit all 16 of his home runs against right-handed pitchers. We set his line at +370 to homer.
