Luis Castillo has produced an ERA near five when not pitching in Seattle's pitcher-friendly confines. Tarik Skubal on the other hand has been stellar everywhere, but the Tigers offense has helped him to a 10-0 record at Comerica Park as opposed to a 2-2 record on the road. Seattle is coming off three losses in New York and no day off before this game, while Detroit has won five of their last six and stayed home between these two series and had the day off on Wednesday. Tough spot for Seattle in my opinion and now they face Skubal, I'll take the Win at plus odds while the moneyline is near -260.
We saw the Tigers and Mariners in Seattle at the beginning of April, and Luis Castillo beat Tarik Skubal, 3-2. That started a season off for Skubal at 0-2, and he still has only two losses. The Mariners have won Castillo's last three starts, and his last two starts have been brilliant as he's allowed only one earned run combined. Skubal is on another planet at 10-2 on the year with the Tigers winning his last six starts, and he hasn't allowed an earned run in his last two starts. Just the under.

Think you see where I'm going with these pitcher to win props -- at least until we get -1, which is by far my go-to MLB (and NHL) bet these days once I stopped being irked by pushes. Reigning AL Cy Young winner and current clear favorite Tarik Skubal is 8-0 at Comerica Park this year with a 2.06 ERA. He also has the payback angle after losing in Seattle in early April. This certainly isn't a lock as Skubal is opposed by very solid Luis Castillo, but we can't beat this price. As long as Skubal isn't dinged by the "Big Dumper" -- yes, I will say that whenever possible -- we should cash.
