It's a homecoming of sorts for Charlie Morton, who returns to Atlanta to face his former team, with many good memories of the past. Proving he's not quite beyond his sell-by date, Morton, demoted to the bullpen earlier in the season, spun a solid 2.88 ERA in five June starts, and the Birds won in five straight Morton outings before bowing in extra innings vs. the Rangers in his last effort. Meanwhile, the Braves look a husk of the team that has been a playoff regular (and World Series winner in 2021), off of another series loss (this one vs. the Angels), and Spencer Strider isn't dominating on the mound as expected, as his so-so 3.86 ERA suggests. Play Orioles on Money Line

Of his 14 extra base hits so far, 12 have come against right handed pitchers with eight home runs included. He's hitting .382 against righties with an OPS over 1.100 and against a familiar teammate in Charlie Morton, I have to take plus odds on Ronald Acuna Jr to produce some fireworks on the 4th of July in Atlanta!

Ronald Acuña has cooled off slightly over the last week after a torrid start to the season, but he's still hitting .344 overall. He's crushed right-handed pitching this year, hitting .382 with 8 of his 9 home runs against righties. Acuña is facing a former teammate in Charlie Morton, who has allowed right-handed batters to hit .294 against him this season. Morton didn't allow any home runs in June, but he gave up 10 in his first 13 starts, so we expect some regression. We set the line at +310 for Acuña to homer tonight.

DraftKings. After struggling to start the season and being relegated to the bullpen, Charlie Morton has been excellent in his return to the Orioles rotation. Morton has pitched to a 2.90 ERA over his last six starts, with 37 strikeouts in 31 innings. Overall, Morton has cleared this strikeout line in six of his last seven outings. He’ll return to Atlanta today, and get a Braves lineup that’s sported a 25.3% strikeout rate over the last two weeks against righties, with only a .639 OPS.
One bright spot of Atlanta being shut down yesterday at home by the Angels was resetting the bullpen. The Orioles were off Thursday, but we did well fading them their final two in Texas earlier this week. Former Braves righty Charlie Morton has been better of late for Baltimore but still 1-4 with a 6.49 ERA away. Atlanta's Spencer Strider is healthy and it's showing with only six earned allowed over 24 innings in his past four (3-1 record). Would like -1 here too.
