It's almost time for the fake beards and sunglasses if the Blue Jays allow themselves to get swept by the Halos. It's been Toronto's bullpen, not the Halos version, that has failed the last two nights, as even usually-reliable Jeff Hoffman was unable to hold a 4-2 lead in the 9th inning last night. Chris Bassitt, with his 2.95 ERA, should get Toronto in position again to get a W at the Big A ...now, can the bullpen implode three straight nights? The erratic Halos starter Jose Soriano is off of an effective outing vs. the Tigers, on the heels of three subpar efforts in which he posted a 7.07 ERA. Play Blue Jays on the Run Line.

The Blue Jays have lost four straight overall and are 5-12 on the road. But they've got a nice pitching edge Thursday with Chris Bassitt (2.95 ERA) opposing Jose Soriano. Soriano has allowed a 46.3 percent hard-hit rate and the Angels have lost his last four starts, though he did pitch well last time out. Look for Toronto to salvage the series finale.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is batting .389 in May, achieving at least one hit in every game. His hard-hit rate of 54.2% ranks in the 94th percentile. Jose Soriano throws a sinker 51% of the time. That could be problematic against Vlady, who has a .500 batting average and a .692 slugging percentage in 26 at-bats against that pitch. Soriano has a hard hit rate of 46.3%, ranking in the 19th percentile. The Angels' bullpen has allowed the second most hits (148) and the most home runs (24) this season. We are experiencing warmer weather in Southern California, turning Angel Stadium into a hitters' park.
