This play didn't work on Friday thanks to the A's scoring three times in the top of the fifth, but I don't think we are gonna lose on 5 here -- might push. Sacramento's (that seems weird to say in MLB) Osvaldo Bido has a 2.30 ERA on the road this year. Miami's Max Meyer has a 2.04 ERA at home. A couple of Marlins regulars are out, not that you would know who they are. I would not play 4.5, which most of our books have.
The A's have won three straight games and are two games out of first place in the AL West with an 18-15 record. The amazing part about their record is that they're 12-6 on the road. The A's are an underdog today because of Miami’s Max Meyer on the mound, but he only lasted four innings in his last outing, giving up five runs to the Mariners. I think he has trouble again. The Marlins have lost six straight. A’s to win.

Osvaldo Bido has not gone deep into games but he's now pitched into the 6th inning in three straight. Once Bido hit his stride as a starter late last year, he finished with six full innings in 5/6 starts in August/Sept, so I think we have room for him to continue the recent success. The Marlins have allowed many opposing starters over this line, with 12/16 starters over the last two weeks exceeding the 15.5 mark. Only Trevor Williams, Taijuan Walker, Logan Gilbert (injury), Logan Evans (MLB debut), and Jack Dreyer (Opener) have stayed below this line. I think the price is off and should be into the -150's or the line at 16.5.
This price baffles as the Marlins don't look a team to be laying any sort of a price (however slight) these days. Six straight losses and a 10.27 ERA that span suggest the oddsmakers might be off with this one, especially as the visiting A's are rolling, winning eight of ten and now 12-6 on the road after Friday's 6-1 romp. Note the A's have won all three road starts by Osvaldo Bido, who has posted a 2.30 ERA in those outings. Meanwhile, Miami's Max Meyer was roughed up by Seattle in his last start, allowing five runs and five hits in 4 IP of another Marlins loss. Not to mention recent Miami form which, as noted, has been wretched. Play A's on Money Line
