Dodgers are too good in inter league play. Yes, I feel like I’m cheating on my guy TSkubal but LA wins it late.

Had to see lineups off a tough Dodgers sweep in Philly. They are all in there. I said yesterday that I try to identify spots where perhaps urgency. The Orioles then went Kardashian. I have to take the Dodgers at +1.5 at a bad Detroit team even against Tarik Skubal. Also most of my friends are there so I have to have an opinion.

Tigers lefty Tarik Skubal fanned 13 Reds last time out, and he's gone Over this number in four straight outings. The Dodgers are not an easy matchup, but lately they've been more prone to striking out, especially against southpaws.

After being swept in Philadelphia, the Dodgers probably wish the All-Star break would begin right now rather than being forced into Detroit to play a weekend set vs. the revived Tigers. Especially as LA's pitching staff is depleted by injury and James Paxton (on the round tonight) is the only veteran remaining in the rotation. Though not sure that's good news as Paxton has struggled on the road (5.36 ERA away). Worse yet tonight for the Blue is having to go against the Tigers' AL Cy Young contender Tarik Skubal, who is back on course and has posted a 1.80 ERA in his last three starts. Weird spot for the middling Dodgers to finish the first half after a big series full of letdowns at Phillies. They face the best lefty in baseball with Tarik Skubal in peak form and Tigers 7-1 in his home starts (+34 RD). He has a 1.74 ERA and .176 BA at home. LA entered Thursday 4-7 since beating up on the White Sox. We backed James Paxton a lot in first half, but no longer getting huge run support. 5.34 ERA on road, 48 H in 47 IP, with a WHIP near 1.5. DET 6-1 in last 7, scoring 39 runs with bats finally showing signs of life again. Might catch Dodgers licking their wounds and pouting.
