Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Bob's Analysis:

Houston's Cristian Javier has been streaky all season. He comes off six scoreless innings against the Diamondbacks and has pitched well in his career in the postseason. Minnesota’s Sonny Gray owns a 2.79 ERA this season, but the Astros lineup has performed well against him in their careers. Houston has played better on the road then at home.

Matt's Analysis:

Minnesota has the better starting pitcher in Sonny Gray, at least from the 2023 regular season, but Houston's Cristian Javier has an excellent postseason history (2.20 ERA in 14 games) and did close the regular season with six shutout innings. I simply still don't believe much in the Twins but they are starting to make me reconsider. Hey, win away ... just not by more than one run. Half unit.
