The Dodgers continue their road trip in a new series against the Atlanta Braves. The Dodgers scored eight or more in all three games of their just-concluded series with the Cincinnati Reds. One cannot expect that level of production to continue, but expect the Dodgers to eventually put together a big inning against Braves pitcher Ian Anderson. Anderson has struggled at home this season, pitching to an ERA of 5.84 in Atlanta. Take the Dodgers.

The Braves are 18-3 in April and 23-15 at home with several players on hot streaks. Dansby Swanson has led the charge up the standings after moving to the No. 2 slot in the batting order. The Braves are also 18-7 against lefty starters. The Dodgers don’t lose much except when Julio Urias starts; they’ve lost six of his last eight starts. The Braves have won Ian Anderson's last five starts. Braves win.

The Braves are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, they are 18-3 in June and they are 9-1 at home in June. The Dodgers are just 10-9 in June on the other hand, and just 5-4 on the road in June. This is a rematch of the NLCS the last two seasons where the Dodgers won in 2020 before they went on to win the World Series, and the Braves won in 6 games last season before winning the World Series in 2021. Julio Urias struggled to start the season, but he is pitching much better lately. However, the Braves crush left-handed pitching as they are ranked 4th in the league in wOBA. Ian Anderson is very hit or miss but he is more than capable of pitching well. The Braves bullpen has also been very good lately while the Dodgers bullpen has been very susceptible. Anderson has pitched against the Dodgers just once in the regular season but four times in the playoffs. He has pitched well but he does tend to walk a lot of Dodgers so if he doesn’t pitch well, look out for that. Julio Urias was also hit hard both times he faced the Dodgers last year in the playoffs and you know all the batters know that too. I like the value in the Braves at home at plus money.
