2022 Formula 1 schedule, F1 picks, odds, qualifying: Dutch Grand Prix projected leaderboard, start time, race prediction from top model

The 2022 Formula 1 schedule continues on Sunday with the 2022 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort on Sunday, Sept. 4. The race has a scheduled start time of 9 a.m. ET. Max Verstappen of Red Bull is the 5-6 betting favorite in the latest Dutch Grand Prix odds from Caesars Sportsbook. He is followed by Ferrari's Charles Leclerq, who ran the fastest lap in practice Friday and is listed at 7-2, as well as Carlos Sainz (7-1). Verstappen has a 93-point lead in the drivers' standings while Red Bull has opened up a 118-point lead over Ferrari for the constructors' championship.

SportsLine's proven computer projection model simulated the Dutch Grand Prix 2022 10,000 times and came up with a surprising leaderboard.

Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary Formula 1 prediction model takes into account a slew of factors including track history and recent results.

The model has been scorching hot when it comes to picking Formula 1 race events dating back to 2021. It nailed both of Leclerc's wins in 2022, and at the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, the model was strongly backing Verstappen as its top pick. The result: Verstappen dominated the field and ran away with a surprising victory. The model followed that up by calling Verstappen's win at the Rolex Emilia Romagna GP in April and then again last week in Belgium. Anyone who followed the model's lead on those plays has seen HUGE returns!

The Dutch Grand Prix just returned to the Formula 1 schedule last year after a 35-year hiatus. It was held almost continuously from 1948 to 1985 and first took place at Circuit Zandvoort in 1950. However, the track's ownership went out of business in 1985 which led to the hiatus. Verstappen, who grew up in the Netherlands won the return race in 2021, marking Red Bull Racing's first ever Dutch Grand Prix victory. Ferrari is a record nine-time winner of the race, while Jim Clark has the most wins among drivers with four.

Now, the model has dialed in on the 2022 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix and just released its coveted picks and leaderboard projections.

We can tell you the model is calling for Lewis Hamilton (15-2) to struggle despite being one of the favorites after Friday's practice. Hamilton ran the second-fastest time in the first practice and then the third-fastest time in the second practice. The legend also finished runner-up at this race last year, but the model has him missing the podium altogether.

The model is also targeting another driver with Dutch Grand Prix odds of 20-1 or longer to make a serious charge up the leaderboard! Anyone who backs this driver could hit it BIG. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who he is before locking in any Formula 1 Dutch GP picks of your own.
