1 Live PicksBodo are 10-0-1 at home this season, can they earn at least a point ...?
I played over 3 at bet365, but over 2.5 works just as well for the column. Two of Atletico Madrid’s three home matches have gone over the total this season, and Atletico has scored at least twice in every match. Manchester United have shown similar attacking potential, but my biggest concern is how leaky they’ve been defensively, especially against inferior competition. They conceded twice away to both Hull and Everton. Still, with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes leading the attack, United have plenty of firepower to contribute offensively. I expect United to find the back of the net, and Atletico should have little trouble scoring at least twice at home. That gets us over 2.5.
Doesn't this feel like one of those matches where defending is optional? Sabah have been incredibly leaky defensively, but they've also shown an ability to score goals when games get stretched. On the other side, Slavia Prague have plenty of attacking firepower, but they're no strangers to getting caught in wide-open matches themselves. This feels like the perfect recipe for goals. Both teams have enough attacking quality to punish defensive mistakes, and neither side inspires much confidence in keeping a clean sheet. I expect an open, end-to-end match with plenty of scoring opportunities. The over 2.5 is a little juiced, so I'm not going the full 1.5 units, but I want some action before this number gets any higher.
What a great story for Sabah to reach the Champions League league phase, especially after their dramatic comeback in qualifying. Unfortunately, they also look like a team that could become the competition’s punching bag. They don’t defend particularly well, struggle to maintain possession and have done most of their recent scoring against much weaker opposition. I think United can score four or five goals here, and I have a hard time seeing Sabah finding the back of the net. United doesn’t just have the talent advantage. They also have a clear edge in speed and size. Whether the goals come from open play or set pieces, I expect United to create enough chances to cover the -2.5 spread.
This number is super juiced, but I’m not interested in taking anything other than Roma to walk away with at least one point. Gian Piero Gasperini has this team playing incredible soccer, and Donyell Malen is playing out of his mind. What I love about this Roma side is how well everything fits together while still allowing its best attacking players to be effective in front of goal. The opponent is good enough to score here, which is why I’m staying away from the Roma moneyline. I could easily see a 1-1 draw, a 2-1 Roma win or even a 2-0 result. Winning away from home won’t be easy, but I still trust Roma to get something from this match.
How could I not back Arsenal here? They just passed their toughest test of the season, coming back from two goals down to beat Chelsea, and now they get a Napoli side that has looked pretty rough. Arsenal are 4-0 to start the season and have conceded just one goal. Napoli opened with a 2-0 win over Genoa, but since then they have lost back-to-back matches and allowed five goals. Mikel Arteta has a chance to take Arsenal to back-to-back Champions League finals. This team won every match in the League Phase last season, and I think they will start this year's run the same way. Give me Arsenal.
What am I missing with Stuttgart -1.5? This feels short. Viking are fun, and they can score, but this is a completely different level. Stuttgart have a huge edge in talent, depth, and athleticism, and their system should create chances no matter who starts. The bigger thing for me is game state. If Stuttgart score first, Viking will have to open up, and that is where this can get away from them quickly. Stuttgart have the quality to turn 1-0 into 2-0 or 3-0 pretty fast. You can play the team total over 1.5, but for this chat now, I like the spread. I think Stuttgart will win this comfortably.
I’m backing PSG to win. Arsenal have been incredible defensively, but I still don’t trust their attack, especially if they need to chase a goal against a PSG side that should have the better attacking matchups in this one. Luis Enrique is an incredible manager, and I give him the edge over Mikel Arteta in this spot. When you look at the matchups across the pitch, PSG look more than equipped to win this in 90 minutes.
This could be a high-flying match, but history suggests it’s more likely to be a snoozefest than a barn burner. Before PSG’s 5-0 win over Inter Milan last year, six straight Champions League finals went under 2.5 goals. Arsenal are built to play slow and controlled, and their defense has been elite. They have conceded just 0.43 goals per match in the Champions League and 0.71 domestically. PSG are not exactly slouches defensively either. Add in the fact that BTTS has not hit in seven straight UCL finals, and the under becomes even more enticing. In my eyes, someone wins this 1-0 or 2-0, giving us value on the under.
It feels weird betting an over in a match involving Diego Simeone and Mikel Arteta. Let’s just be very clear, though: this is not your old-school Atletico Madrid side. It’s been quite a while since the average goals per match in Atletico Madrid games sat closer to two than three. You would have to go all the way back to the 2019 season for that kind of Atleti team. This Atletico side has shown defensive fragility all season, but because of their structure, they also have enough attacking talent to offset some of those issues. Arsenal boast an incredible defense, arguably the best in Europe, but they are still vulnerable to concede.
Bayern took a 2-1 win in Madrid in the first leg, but that scoreline could've been bigger. They were dominant, generating 2.92 xG away from home and consistently creating high-quality chances. If the second leg against Atalanta showed us anything, it’s that Vincent Kompany has no intention of sitting back and defending a lead. Bayern will stay on the front foot. I expect them to win again here and make a clear statement as the best team in Europe.
Life under Arne Slot hasn’t been great for Liverpool. After winning the Premier League, they now sit fifth, with 10 losses and 42 goals conceded. That’s a massive difference from a year ago, when they lost just four matches and allowed only 41 goals. Tactically, this sets up perfectly for PSG. Liverpool’s biggest defensive issue has been their vulnerability in transition and on set pieces. The high line continues to be exposed, while the midfield lacks control when possession is lost, leaving the backline isolated. Luis Enrique’s side is lethal on the counter, one of the best in Europe. Their pace can punish stretched defenses. PSG know how important the first leg is in the knockout stages; they get the job done in Paris.
Goals feel like the cleanest way to attack this match. Whether that be BTTS and over, or Barcelona to win and BTTS. One thing is certain. Atletico Madrid have been conceding goals in bunches away from home. They have conceded 15 goals in their last five away days. The advanced metrics back it up. They are conceding just 1.07 xGA at home, but allow 1.53 xGA away from home. Barcelona have too much creativity in the midfield not to create chances and likely score multiple times. Do they win? Probably. Do they win by two clear goals? Maybe. The -1 gives you push protection, which matters most. At home, Barcelona have been dominant. 15-0 in La Liga and 4-0-1 in the Champions League.
