Kansas State is still the more talented team despite their 1-2 SU start to the season. The Wildcats haven’t been tested yet with convincing wins over Hawaii and Weber State. Dylan Edwards has been cleared to play after suffering a knee injury against the Cyclones. Edwards still not be 100% but this seems like a good boy-low spot on a Kansas State team who still has the better defense in this matchup.
The ultimate buy-low spot for the Wildcats. Dylan Edwards has been medically cleared to play, which should provide a nice boost to Avery Johnson and the K-State offense, but I still like them even if he doesn’t take the field. This is an absolute must-win game for K-State, and I make them -3
Following a devastating home loss as a three-score favorite against Army, Kansas State coach Chris Klieman took a positive approach, insisting he was proud of his team's effort and insisting brighter days lie ahead. K-State basically has no choice than to emerge with a win Friday if it wants to salvage its season. Arizona is 2-0 against weak competition. It's difficult to gauge its ceiling, but worth noting a limited Hawaii team drove the length of the field several teams only for Arizona to bail itself out by forcing five turnovers. We K-State has the superior personnel and will find a way to grind out a much-needed win.
K-State has already slipped twice, and It hasn’t helped that expected workhorse RB Dylan Edwards has been out since early in the Iowa State game due to an ankle injury. A bit more has been expected from playmaker QB Avery Johnson, who has been posting some rather pedestrian numbers as new OC Matt Wells continues to search for ways to juice the passing game. There is hope that Edwards returns soon, but it’s not lost on Lon Kruger and other KSU alums that Kleiman’s team, which was boldly talking of making the 12-team playoff a few weeks ago, is going to have to adjust its aim to the Pop-Tarts Bowl if it can’t get out of Tucson with a win tonight. Play KSU on ML
For those of you who don't know, I'm a proud Arizona alum who goes to most home games. I'll be there again on Friday watching a broken Kansas State team take on my UofA squad, which hasn't surrendered a touchdown in two games. I expect KSU to keep the game close but the home Wildcats owe the road Wildcats some payback in what is being billed as a "non-conference" game between two Big 12 foes. Arizona 27, Kansas State 24.
