Understanding Public and Money

The Oklahoma State program is in a bad situation. The Cowboys spiraled to a 3-9 season last year in which they finished winless in the Big 12. And they can't compete with the regional titans for the top recruits on a NIL basis. Even coach Mike Gundy's magic hasn't been able to keep the program from sliding. On Saturday the Cowboys face their polar opposite: an Oregon program flush with NIL money and loaded with five-star recruits. Oh, and because of an injury to Oklahoma State starting QB Hauss Hejny, Zane Flores will be making his first career start, at Autzen Stadium no less. The Ducks name their score.
Oklahoma State lost its starting QB last week and now has an inexperienced Zane Flores going on the road to make his first start at Autzen Stadium against what looks to be a great Oregon defense.
