Lose a third straight game and Utah most likely will not have a shot at the Big 12 title game when it was the preseason favorite. Yes, 54-year-old QB Cameron Rising is out for the year again but the Utes are more than used to playing without grandpa. TCU is a good offensive club but allowing 40 PPG on the road in 2024. The Frogs also are -10 in turnover margin overall.

It's time to buy low on a Utah club desperate to snap a two-game skid. The long-awaited return of oft-injured QB Cam Rising against Arizona State was tough to watch. He was clearly ailing and unable to make nay plays, yet coach Kyle Whittingham inexplicably stuck with him and it arguably cost the Utes a winnable game against Arizona State. The Frogs have had a down year that includes double-digit losses to UFC and Houston. This isn't a get-right spot against a Utes club that will impose its physicality at the line of scrimmage.

Utah clearly isn't the team we all expected it to be coming into the season, and it's the lack of a QB at the root of the problem. The Utes have talented players on offense, but they don't have a QB capable of getting the ball to them consistently. Meanwhile, this is a backs-against-the-wall game for Sonny Dykes and the Frogs.
