A bye week was timely for Florida, which has played erratically in a 2-2 start. UCF has split its two games against Power Five foes, winning by a point and losing by 27. The Knights had no extra time to recover from a beatdown by Colorado. The program was rocked this week with the announcement that five players quit the team with the intent to transfer. Only one was a starter, but the mass exodus likely will affect their teammates. UCF is unaccustomed to playing in environments like The Swamp, so the Gators' home-field advantage is potentially greater than the norm.

I can't guarantee that Florida covers or wins, but I can nearly guarantee that Billy Napier will be fired Sunday if the Gators lose badly at home to Little Brother UCF -- especially with UF off a bye week. The Knights were just clobbered at home Saturday by a very flawed Colorado team themselves. I tend to think UF does win outright after looking much, much better on on Sept. 21 at Mississippi State with the two-headed QB monster of Graham Mertz and touted freshman DJ Lagway. The duo finished 26-of-28 (92.8%, UF single-game record) for 277 yards, hitting 10 different receivers.
