James Madison escaped with a win last week agains the Aggies. They return home where they are 19-2 SU since 2016.

The 4-0 Dukes return home after three straight road games and welcome a South Alabama team that's limping in after a loss to Central Michigan. These two squads match up well as higher-end Sun Belt teams, but I think JMU has been more consistent on a down-to-down basis and the FBS is about to learn about the home field advantage in Harrisonburg. Under Curt Cignetti, the Dukes are 27-2 at home and that's going to power a tenacious performance from JMU.

I still don't understand how South Alabama won 33-7 at Oklahoma State a couple of weeks ago -- and then lost at home to MAC school Central Michigan. James Madison is unbeaten. If the Dukes were eligible for the Sun Belt title, they might be favorites but they aren't eligible. JMU leads the FBS in rushing defense, allowing 41.5 yards per game. Utah State had 98 yards on the ground last week, the most yards JMU has allowed during its current seven-game win streak. When South Alabama beat the Pokes, it rushed for 243 yards.
