South Carolina first-year head coach Shane Beamer used an assistant coach with a year of eligibility remaining at quarterback to post a 46-0 win against Eastern Illinois. Zeb Noland threw for four touchdown passes in the rout. This week, Beamer has both Noland and expected starter Luke Doty listed first on the depth chart. No matter who starts against East Carolina, the Gamecocks are not losing in Greenville.

This line has been all over the place already and I have to say that I'm surprised the Gamecocks are underdogs. East Carolina isn't too bad but didn't look great in a Week 1 loss at Appalachian State. USC trounced Eastern Illinois without three key players: QB Luke Doty, running back Kevin Harris and safety R.J. Roderick. All three are expected for this one. It's the first matchup between the two programs since 2016.
