Virginia Commonwealth has a 10-game winning streak going, and St. Louis comes off a rare loss. The Billikens had an 18-game win streak snapped Tuesday night at Rhode Island as a 9.5-point favorite. But I like St. Louis at home, where they're 16-0 this season. I like them to bounce back after the humiliating loss against a VCU team they’ve beaten the last two times. St. Louis has a defense that's No. 1 in the nation, allowing only 36.5% shooting and holding opponents to 27.6% from 3-point range, also No. 1. St. Louis has to prove themself again, and I like that. I'm betting on that St. Louis defense to set the tone.
Saint Louis tied its season low with just 71 points the last time these two teams played, and VCU had a chance to steal it late in a game that was otherwise largely controlled by the Billikens. The Rams have also been playing some of their basketball recently, riding a 10-game winning streak with some solid defensive performances in the month of February. The issue here is how Saint Louis bounces back from a stunning loss at Rhode Island on Tuesday night. Perhaps an angry SLU squad is a team to be upgraded, especially playing at home where they are 11-5 ATS. My bet here is the opposite, and that Phil Martelli Jr.’s team is playing well enough to threaten for the road upset.
