    Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

    Chip's Analysis:

While Nebraska has struggled to match its success at home with wins on the road (17-1 at home, 2-7 on the road) I think the urgency of the moment can give a slight edge to a Huskers team that knows it needs road wins for its NCAA Tournament chances. Ohio State has been a fantastic story with its wins against Purdue and Michigan State since firing Chris Holtmann, but at some point the rapidly approaching conclusion to the season could leave the Buckeyes short on juice knowing there's a coaching change and no NCAA Tournament on the horizon.

    Bruce's Analysis:

Normally we see these sorts of “new coach bounces” more often in the NHL. As it relates to Columbus right now, however, it’s not the Blue Jackets, but rather the Big Ten and Ohio State hoops, which has shown good life for interim Jake Diebler since Chris Holtmann was forced to walk the plank a couple of weeks ago. While Ohio State has opened some eyes, Big Ten observers also know that Fred Hoiberg’s Huskers have won and covered four in a row, very impressively to boot, with all wins by 15 or more. Including on Sunday vs. a hot Minnesota that ended up being drubbed, 73-55, as the Huskers “Hoop Black Shirts” defense held the Golden Gophers to just 31% FG shooting. Play Nebraska
