Play-in game success has always had a stipulation on teams that posted blowout wins. Arizona State took advantage of a weaker opponent in Nevada that likely should not have been in the Tournament. The Sun Devils also had an upper hand with two ex-Nevada players on their team in Desmond Cambridge Jr. and Warren Washington. The Horned Frogs will be able to match Arizona State’s athleticism and will make the necessary defensive adjustments over time. Look for TCU to cover.

TCU feels like it ran out of gas down the stretch, on a 4-7 run and 3-8 ATS. ASU is playing its most inspired ball of the season on both sides of the court, and they have momentum from their blowout of Nevada on Wednesday night. ASU is 9-5 ATS as an underdog this season. TCU is a good team but not the same without starting center Eddie Lampkin, who has left the club and will transfer. The Frogs don't have much size without him as Lampkin was the only rotational player who stood above 6-foot-7, which could mean a big game for Sun Devils 7-foot center Warren Washington, who had nine points, five rebounds and four assists in the First Four blowout of Nevada. Both TCU (20th) and Arizona State (29th) have Top 30 defenses, and lower-scoring games generally mean close games. The Frogs are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
