The Basketball Classic continues Monday with two matchups, including one featuring Sun Belt Conference teams Coastal Carolina and South Alabama. The Jaguars won the lone matchup this season, thanks to a buzzer-beating 3-point shot. They are 15-2 at home this season. Take South Alabama.

I just didn't/don't love any of the spreads for today's Elite Eight games so gonna pass. This is a true home game for South Alabama in the Basketball Classic on Monday. I see Larry is taking Coastal. That's fine. +3.5 is a solid number and the Chants may well cover that, but I don't think they win. The Jaguars are 15-2 at home and frankly that's about my only reasoning. They are Sun Belt rivals if you didn't know and USA won at Coastal by 3 on Feb. 17. Their game at South Alabama ended up being called off due to COVID.

These teams know each other well from the Sun Belt. In the only regular-season meeting, the Jaguars won at home on a 3-pointer at the buzzer. South Alabama, however, has not been overly impressive in The Basketball Classic, winning by two and four points at home. Coastal Carolina comes in off two blowout victories. Glad I locked this in early because this line has shifted substantially toward the Chanticleers. Look for senior guard Rudi Williams -- the Kansas State transfer who's averaging 21.0 points and 4.5 assists in this tourney -- to lead Coastal to a cover and possibly an outright win.
