Yale’s struggles in non-conference play were a big issue. At one point, the Bulldogs were just 6-8 overall. In fact, they faced four NCAA Tournament teams and lost by an average of 23 points. Yale turned up the defense to close out the season, which kept its last five games Under the total, winning four of those games and winning the Ivy League Tournament. Purdue has also been playing great defense lately with a sputtering offense that has scored in the 60s in five of its last six, which has kept five of its last six Under.
