The Jayhawks make a statement with their loaded, new-look roster on opening night by taking it to Michigan State on a neutral court at Madison Square Garden. Kansas landed Arizona State transfer Remy Martin (19.1 points per game) and Drake transfer Joseph Yesufu (12.8) to pair alongside Ochai Agbaji (14.1). The Spartans lost two of their three top scorers from last year in Aaron Henry and Joshua Langford. They will instead turn to Joey Hauser (9.7) and Northeastern transfer Tyson Walker, who averaged 18.8 points playing in the Colonial Athletic Association. It is worth noting that Kansas will be without forward Jalen Wilson (11.8) due to a suspension, but the Jayhawks possess far more talent than Michigan State. Take Kansas.

I'm a Michigan State fan and I'm afraid Sparty will be taking a bit of a step back this season -- although I'm sure still make the NCAA Tournament. Tom Izzo lost three of his best players in Aaron Henry, Joshua Langford and Rocket Watts plus solid reserve Foster Loyer to transfer. Touted recruit Emoni Bates once was committed to Sparty but ended up at Memphis. Kansas, meanwhile, is absolutely loaded with four starters back (although Jalen Wilson is suspended the first three games) and added Arizona State transfer Remy Martin, the preseason Big 12 Player of the Year. I'll be shocked if KU doesn't win this game but it would be typical Spartans to fight hard and cover 4.5 points so we'll do the moneyline.

The Jayhawks are absolutely stacked. The additions of Remy Martin and Joseph Yesufu make the Jayhawks immediate national title contenders. The Spartans lost almost all of their production from last season. They are going to struggle at the start of this season. Lay the points at Madison Square Garden.
