The Reds’ bullpen ranks dead-last in MLB in ERA for the month of May, at 8.09. Starter Nick Lodolo owns an 8.68 ERA through two starts. Philly’s OPS this month vs. left-handers is .949. The ascending Phillies should put some crooked numbers on the board. Philly RHP Andrew Painter has been blown up three times but allowed one run in three other starts. A solid bullpen can do the heavy lifting.

The Cincinnati Reds may be in last place in the NL Central, but are getting high end contribution from their top player in Elly De La Cruz. De La Cruz has five extra base hits over his last five games, and that includes a double and home run in yesterday’s loss. He also has a hit in a season best ten straight games. Take his total bases/combination line over.

It’s been an ugly month of May for the Cincinnati Reds, as they are just 4 and 12 overall. Amidst the down turn Spencer Steer has remained strong. He is hitting .321 on the road, and comes into tonight with an eight game hitting streak. In fact, he has gone without a hit in just one of the sixteen games this month. Take his total bases prop over.

FanDuel. Nick Lodolo has yet to clear this outs line in either of his two starts, as he continues to work his way back into form after starting the season on the IL. The results thus far have been subpar, with 11 hits and 9 runs allowed in just 9.1 innings. The task won’t get easier today against a red hot Phillies offense. The Phils have been handling lefties well of late with a .757 OPS and 110 wRC+ over the last month. Lodolo has traditionally been towards the top of the pitches per plate appearance leaderboard, and I don’t think Terry Francona will push him to the max today. And to top it off, we get extreme hitting conditions at Citizens Bank Park tonight.
The Reds and Phillies both have the same record at 24-23, but each team is going in different directions lately. Cincinnati had a hot start this season, but they’ve been struggling lately, losing 12 of their last 16. The Phillies have won their last four games, including a weekend sweep of the Pirates, and since Don Mattingly was named manager, they have been hot, with a 15-4 record. Over the last 15 days, the Phillies pitching staff has produced a 2.81 ERA, which is 4th in baseball. Reds left-hander Nick Ladolo has had two rough outings this year, allowing nine runs in his first two starts. Phillies find a way to win.
