Galatasaray and Copenhagen settled for a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture and I expect we’ll see our fair share of goals on Tuesday. Galatasaray have scored three or more goals in three of their last four fixtures across all competitions and both teams are in the hunt for the knockout round. Copenhagen currently holds a one goal advantage over Galatasaray in goal differential, so I expect the Turkish side will be pressing forward looking to erase that deficit.
This one is going to be fascinating. Second place in Group A is up for grabs, as Bayern Munich have clinched advancement and these teams are tied on five points. Manchester United have four and face Bayern, so a winner here would be through to the next round. Copenhagen have a one-goal edge in goal differential but won’t be sitting back and hoping for the best. Both teams will go for goals, and while don’t expect it to be like these teams’ goal-fests with United, they should get three or four between them. Eight of Galatasaray’s past 10 have gone Over 2.5, and five of Copenhagen’s past seven have done so. The last meeting ended 2-2, and this should be similar.
These teams played an entertaining 2-2 draw in Istanbul at the start of the Champions League group stage. They are now level on five points apiece as we approach the final matchday, and both stand a good chance of qualifying for the Round of 16. We should witness another open-field entertaining game between them in the Danish capital. After all, Galatasaray has scored 10 goals and conceded 12 times in just five Champions League games. It is very dangerous in attack and weak in defense, which typically results in high-scoring affairs.
While Copenhagen can be a bit of a fortress to score on when playing at home, I wouldn't be shocked to see at least four goals. Group A is an absolute mess with Bayern Munich already clinching the group, but the second qualifying spot is wide open for the remaining teams. Copenhagen are up one goal on goal differential but are equal on points to Galatasaray, which means if either club wins outright, it advances. I expect nothing but offense from two attack-heavy sides desperate to claim that coveted second spot.
