Thursday MLB trading preview

In extra innings, the Boston Red Sox defeated the Athletics 4-2 last night. Through three games in this American League series, the winning team has scored four runs each time. The Red Sox are fighting in the AL Wild Card picture and are also in third place in the AL East, trailing the Rays by seven games. Their ace, Sonny Gray, is on the mound tonight seeking his 13th win and is trading at $0.53 per share on Polymarket to have 5 or more strikeouts. Boston is also priced at $0.62 per share to win over the Athletics at $0.39 on Polymarket, and 10 or more runs in this evening's game is trading at $0.55 per share. For the A's, Tommy White has had a hot start to his MLB career and has a pair of 4-hit games this season. He is priced at $0.15 per share on Polymarket to hit his first career home run in an Athletics uniform.

The four-game series between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds begins this evening. The Pirates lead the season series comfortably 6-3 against the Reds. Both teams have their eyes on the trade deadline to make roster moves, but one player who is likely to remain is rookie sensation Sal Stewart. The Reds' young star has 22 home runs this season, which is third among rookies, and is trading at $0.24 per share to homer on Polymarket. Stewart is aiming to become the fourth rookie since 1920 to lead the Reds in home runs, hits, RBIs, and walks. Polymarket has nine or more runs in tonight's meeting trading at $0.61 per share. The Pirates are also priced at $0.53 per share to win over the Reds, who are priced at $0.48 on Polymarket.

The Miami Marlins play the New York Mets in the opener tonight in this four-game series. Miami is coming off a stunning series sweep over Philadelphia and heads to New York with plenty of momentum. The Mets are expected to be very involved when the trade deadline approaches to shift their roster, and they are priced at $0.54 per share to win over the Marlins at $0.47 on Polymarket. Nolan McLean is on the hill tonight for the Mets, and in his last three appearances he's had a 1.00 ERA. He has also gone at least six innings in seven straight starts, which is the longest such streak by a Met since 2024 when Sean Manaea did it. On Polymarket, he is trading at $0.67 per share to have six or more strikeouts. Trade on the MLB and more with the Polymarket promo code SPORTSLINE:
