World Cup trading preview

England vs. DR Congo is a true David vs. Goliath to kick off Wednesday's 2026 World Cup tripleheader at noon ET. England is a soccer world power and DR Congo qualified for the World Cup for the first time in eight attempts dating back to 1998 this year. England has played in all eight tournaments during that timeframe. England made at least the Round of 16 in six of those seven World Cup tournaments. Harry Kane became England's all-time World Cup goalscorer leader (11) this year, and he has three goals in the World Cup 2026. DR Congo went 1-1-1 in the group stage, including an impressive draw against Portugal, to advance to the knockout round. England went 2-1-0. Kalshi prices England at $0.88 to advance, with DR Congo priced at $0.13 to advance. In regulation time (90 minutes plus stoppage), Kalshi prices England at $0.77 per share to win, with DR Congo at $0.07 to win. A draw is priced at $0.18 per share.

Belgium and Senegal follow at 4 p.m. ET, and Belgium closed the group stage with their best game yet in a 5-1 victory over New Zealand to win their group. Belgium went 1-2-0 in the group stage. Meanwhile, Senegal went 1-0-2 but dominated Iraq in a 5-0 rout in their final match to earn a spot in the knockout round after finishing third in their group. Kalshi prices Belgium at $0.60 to advance, with Senegal priced at $0.41 to advance. In regulation time (90 minutes plus stoppage), Kalshi prices Belgium at $0.46 per share to win, with Senegal at $0.26 to win. A draw is priced at $0.30 per share.

The United States serve as the main event on Wednesday, playing Bosnia and Herzegovina at 8 p.m. ET from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The U.S. have made the Round of 16 in each of their last three World Cups (2010, 2014, 2022). The United States didn't have to go all-out in their final group game after locking in the top spot in Group D after their 2-0 start, and that rest plus home-field advantage could provide a significant boost on Wednesday. American star Christian Pulisic returned and played against Turkiye, so he should be good to go after missing the second group game with a strained calf. Meanwhile, Bosnia and Herzegovina are playing in their second World Cup since coming together in 2002, and this is their first time in the knockout round. Kalshi prices USA at $0.84 to advance, with Bosnia and Herzegovina priced at $0.17 to advance. In regulation time (90 minutes plus stoppage), Kalshi prices USA at $0.72 per share to win, with Bosnia and Herzegovina at $0.11 to win. A draw is priced at $0.19 per share. Trade on the World Cup and more at Kalshi with the promo code SPORTSLINE15.
