Seattle enters Santa Clara as a 4.5-point favorite over New England, a reflection of the Seahawks leading the NFL in scoring defense (17.2 points per game) in the regular season and a perception that New England may have benefitted from a soft schedule.
But the Patriots also benefitted from the ascendance of Maye, who turned into an MVP candidate by passing for 4,394 yards and 31 touchdowns, and from the fourth-best scoring defense in the league (18.8 points per game). The Patriots also overcame a series of stifling defenses (the Chargers, Texans and Broncos) in the playoffs to reach this game. Of course, none of those teams could score at Seattle's level, but this won't be New England's first time playing a game in the trenches.
Darnold's resurgence helped fuel Seattle's explosive offense, which featured the NFL's leader in receiving yards, Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The former Ohio State star broke out in a huge way in 2025 and will now have to tangle with New England cornerback Christian Gonzalez on the biggest stage.
Smith-Njigba (-110) is the second favorite on FanDuel's anytime touchdown scorer board behind Seattle running back Kenneth Walker (-190), who will need to carry a bigger load with Zach Charbonnet out. The over/under for total points scored is 45.5 (Over -108, -112).
