I hesitate to bet the same team in back-to-back nights in hockey because I don't want egg on my face twice -- Vegas sorta hosed us last night blowing a 1-0 lead in Calgary and losing 2-1 in OT -- but we did hit the total so basically a wash and I thus guess it allows this play via my ever-changing "rule book." The Alberta double of Calgary/Edmonton is arguably the toughest B2B in the NHL. Will do a half unit simply as Vegas certainly is good enough to bounce back, but all the intangibles are on Edmonton's side.
I like Edmonton. As a city, as a team and in this game. They are hot, the coaching change has providing jumpstart. They have revenge on their minds; it’s the meeting since Vegas knocked them out in playoffs last year. And they are home.
This is the first meeting between the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights since Vegas eliminated Edmonton in the playoffs last season, and there's reason to think the Oilers can have their revenge tonight. These two teams are moving in opposite directions. Edmonton is 5-3 in their past eight games, including three straight home wins, and they've scored 13 goals in their last two. The Golden Knights are 3-7 in their last 10 and have scored only three times in their past four games. We like Edmonton to win.
The Oilers have displayed a pretty sharp edge since making their recent coaching chance from jay Woodcroft to Kris Knoblauch, as the offense has seemed to shift into gear and doing things lately like scoring eight goals in a game. This also looks a very good time to catch Vegas which has been struggling for three weeks and off of a loss in Calgary last night. Play Oilers on Money Line
The Golden Knights are back to back off of a overtime loss at Calgary. The Knights are 3-7 their last 10 games. Edmonton started the year 3-10 however they've 4-3 since the Oilers made the coaching change to Kris Knoblauch. Edmonton has scored four goals or more in six of their last eight games. Vegas has scored just three goals in their last four games.
