2022 NFL Draft odds: Cam Robinson extension likely locks Jaguars to Travon Walker or Aidan Hutchinson with first overall pick

There is likely some clarity with what Jacksonville will do with the first overall pick in Thursday's NFL Draft.

Earlier this week, we told you that Georgia defensive end Travon Walker had passed Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson as the betting favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the NFL Draft from Las Vegas on Thursday. We also told you that the Jaguars reportedly were considering a total of four players; after signing left tackle Cam Robinson to an extension on Wednesday, now the Jags are surely down to Walker and Hutchinson.

When the Jags franchise-tagged Robinson earlier this year, that pretty much hinted that they would look for a pass-rusher at the top of the draft, but that Robinson got a three-year contract extension worth $54 million presumably locks that in. Robinson, whom the Jaguars selected 34th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, also played on the franchise tag in 2021 for $13.75 million. He was graded 19th among eligible tackles in pass-blocking, according to Pro Football Focus. In his 14 games, he allowed 31 pressures and one sack.

Caesars Sportsbook still lists North Carolina State offensive lineman Ikem Ekwonu as a +450 third favorite to be the top pick Thursday but that seems like wasted money now. Ditto on Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal at +2500. You don't use the first overall pick on a guard or right tackle, which is where Ekwonu/Neal would have to play at least immediately with Robinson extended.

Ekwonu is now listed with an Over/Under draft position of 4.5, with Under a -150 favorite. Detroit is expected to take Hutchinson at No. 2 and then either the Texans at No. 3 or Jets at No. 4 could take Ekwonu, who is -250 to be the first offensive player chosen and -200 as the first offensive lineman.

That Houston's first draft pick is an offensive lineman is a +125 favorite. For the Jets, a defensive lineman/edge rusher is a +125 favorite to be the team's first pick followed by an offensive lineman at +300.

On Monday, the book shifted Walker to a -200 favorite to be the first pick and he's now -300. Hutchinson, the favorite for weeks, moved to +140 on Monday and is now +350.
