At the end of the season there is value to be had on low win teams. We’ve seen the Raiders, Giants, and Jaguars win last week. Jacksonville accomplished the task of defeating the Tennessee Titans twice, and now can do the same against the Indianapolis Colts. A game back in week five that was the Jaguars first win of the season, and not as close as the final score suggested. Indianapolis got some late big plays to make the game close. Take the Jaguars to continue to show some pride to close out the season plus the points.
Joe Flacco will start for Indianapolis and that could be a good thing against this vulnerable Jacksonville pass defense. In the first meeting with the Jaguars, Flacco went 33 of 44 for 359 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. Anthony Richardson is the only Colts' player who has been ruled out. Look for Indy to end a disappointing season on a good note.
The Colts were eliminated from playoff contention in ugly fashion last week, giving up 45 points to a dead Giants offense. Indy's seven wins have been by a combined 27 points, none by more than eight, as they struggle to put even bad teams away. The Jags have remained competitive, losing by more than one score just once since Week 6, and their defense is much better against the run than the pass, which should help contain Indy. I love fading teams in general the week after they've been eliminated, but I might play the Jags at this number even if Indy had something to play for.
