The Browns were running out of gas before the bye. Expect a refreshed Cleveland team Sunday -- one that will be super-prepared for the Ravens after losing 16-10 in Baltimore two weeks ago. The bye was especially important for Baker Mayfield, who's dealt with an array of injuries this season. In eight games post-bye last season, Mayfield threw 11 TDs and one INT. He should have a strong game against a Ravens defense focused on stopping the run and now missing All-Pro corner Marlon Humphrey. With this line having ticked up to a field goal, I'm playing the Browns on the money line at -150.
The Browns played the Ravens in Week 12, had their bye, and now they're facing the Ravens again. In other words, they’ve focused on beating the Ravens for three straight weeks of practice. That should give Cleveland an edge here. Frankly, the Ravens are lucky to be 8-4, with six of those wins by six points or less. It will take a lot for injury-plagued Baltimore to beat a talented division rival twice in 14 days, this time in Cleveland. Lay the points.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been struggling recently. He has thrown for more interceptions (eight) than touchdowns (six) over his last four games. Since Week 9, he has thrown the most interceptions in the NFL, while also being sacked 16 times (tied for the most). I think that side of the ball will be the reason Cleveland covers.
