Throw all of the stats out the window. This is a must-win game for Philadelphia, as the Eagles are coming off an embarrassment of an effort at Dallas. There has been a lot of talk about selfishness in the Philly locker room, so hopefully the talk will turn into motivation. Before the year started, my line on this game would've been Eagles -7.5. Buffalo has played the second-easiest schedule in the NFL so far.
The wind will be blowing off Lake Erie between 25-35 mph, so throwing and kicking the football will be a challenge. Buffalo's defense is No. 3 in points allowed per game at just 15 and the Bills are 5-1 to the under. Buffalo's offense ranks No. 15 in yards per play, but the Bills are No. 7 in rushing yards per game. Josh Allen has just seven TD passes in six games. Philadelphia's offense ranks No. 24 in yards per play. And with the heavy winds, the Eagles will need to turn to the running game.
This is a must-win game for the Eagles and a statement game for the Bills. Both teams have a lot riding on this contest, but when you look at the offense of Buffalo, it gives cause for pause. The Bills do a great job hanging around in games offensively, but they are not the most consistent bunch. Their defense is excellent, but they'll need to score in order to beat Philly.
The Bills offense isn't impressive and I like the Eagles to bounce back here. Buffalo turns the ball over too much; I think Philadelphia will take advantage. The Eagles have to win this game. They're facing a Buffalo team that gave up 381 yards to Miami. Look for the Eagles, in this desperate spot, to end their skid.
I don't think the Bills are 5-1 good, but I'd say they're better than the Eagles right now, which isn't being reflected in this line. The Eagles defense has been routinely toasted, allowing 24 points or more to everyone but Luke Falk. Josh Allen has been a good passer on short and medium throws, and he should be able to move the ball in this matchup, while a formerly elite Eagles rush D has struggled lately. Buffalo's defense is the best unit in this game, and the Eagles have failed to hit 300 yards on offense in two of their last three. This lines up well for a Bills win.
